Description

Yellow Golden Pheasant is a mutation of Red Golden Pheasant. 

They are very similar to Red Golden. The color of Red Golden Pheasant is golden red and Yellow Golden body is yellow,bright yellow crest, yellowish orange cap with black barring.

Its tail is light brown with tan spots, and its face is light yellow, and the rump is sharp and light brown.

The legs are pale yellow.The female is pale golden with brown barring.

There is no story of yellow golden pheasant in wildlife.

Yellow Golden Pheasant Mutation 

The mutation of the yellow golden pheasant happened by accident.

It happened in the presence of an Italian professor Alessandro Ghigi, an expert zoologist. That is why it is known as Ghigi Yellow Golden.

Aviculture Status 

As we read below, Alessandro Ghigi developed the yellow golden pheasant in the 1950s. 

The pheasant came to the United States in the 1660s. At first, these pheasants were expensive and rare, but now they are very common and common.

Various zoos and aviaries are found almost everywhere.

Breeding and Incubation 

The Yellow-golden pheasants begin their breeding season in April, and like pheasants, the males also display their plumage. 

Females lay about 8 to 13 eggs in a clutch during the breeding season.

The hatching period is about 24 to 25 days.

Size and Weight 

Male and female yellow golden pheasants differ in appearance as well as in their size and weight. 

The length of the yellow golden male is about 90 cm (34.4 inches) to 105 cm (41.3 inches).

The tail of Red Golden Pheasant and Yellow Golden Pheasant is two-thirds of their body length.

Females of Yellow Golden Pheasant are slightly smaller than males.

Their size is 60 cm (23.6 inches) to 90 cm (35.4 inches) and their weight is about 400 grams to 650 grams.

Distribution 

As we read earlier, this pheasant was developed in the 1950s. 
Yellow golden pheasants exist only in captivity.
